NEED POINTE SHOES?????????

We are planning a trip to Carmel's in Metairie, for Thursday July 17th, at 10 am. All those that need Pointe Shoes for the Clinic next week or for beginning Semester in August, should plan to come or find an available seat in the carpool. SEATING is LIMITED so please contact Paige immediately to reserve a seat. If you can offer a vehicle and your exquisite driving services, you will be welcomed to the journey! Please contact Paige to let her know if you can drive and how many seats you have available for extra passengers. Parents if you are planning to drop your child off to be carpooled by someone else, please be courteous enough to leave your child with $5 to help with exorbitant gas prices, and maybe a buck or two extra for a lil lunch!

Registration for the Fall / Spring 2008-2009 Artistic Year will be held on Saturday, July 19th and July 26th from 10 am - 4 pm at the APAC St. Amant Studio.

Pointe Clinic July 21st thru July 24th, 2008

APAC is hosting a Summer Dance Clinic focused on introducing dancers to the art of Pointe, and to rehearse/ improve skills of those dancers already acquainted with this style of dance.

The clinic will begin July 21st and the final day will be July 24th. Instruction will be given with Ballet Mistress, Paige Englade-Cardosa.

Beginner Pointe instruction will teach aspiring dancers basic Pointe Shoe Information, proper

 Ballet Terminology, how to releveé and rise En Pointe safely as to not damage but strengthen the ankles, basic positions of the feet En Pointe, proper technique using the center and balance on top of the Pointe Shoe, and basic skills Centré Floor. Students will begin the class on the barre and finish with a small Adagio.

Intermediate Pointe & Advanced Pointe instruction is designed to strengthen skills and technique of dancers already introduced to Pointe. These lessons will hieghten awareness of one's center of gravity, improving on longevity En Pointe, and to help dancers acheive a lightness of the feet. Instruction will be aimed to reinforce Ballet Terminology and Proper Technique at the barre, centré floor, and during a small Adagio.

Dancers shall come to class properly dressed in Leotard, Tights, Pointe Shoes with hair in a tight bun. (Ballet Skirt optional)

NO SHORTS, CAPRI'S, JAZZ PANTS, OR T-SHIRTS.

Beginner Pointe 6:30 pm - 7:30pm Monday - Wednesday

6:30pm - 7:30pm Thursday / 7:30pm - 7:45pm Adagio performance for Parents & Guests

Intermediate/

Advanced Pointe 7:30pm - 9:00pm Monday - Wednesday

 7:45pm - 9:15pm Thursday / 9:15pm - 9:30pm Adagio performance for
